We know that students need both phonological awareness and phonics knowledge, but how do we squeeze it all into a lesson? This goal can often feel like a challenging acrobatic act. By layering these skills into your teaching, you can help your students soar! 

Former IDA-GA president, Jennifer Hasser, will explain how the process of layering phonological awareness activities throughout phonics instruction can benefit students of various ages and stages. This presentation will outline the value of structuring your lesson to include phonological awareness activities alongside phonics instruction. Participants will gain knowledge that can be applied to either in-person or virtual classroom settings.
