VIRTUAL SUMMER SERIES: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA

Virtual Summer Series: Assistive Technology for Students with Dyslexia

Co-sponsored by IDALA and Wilson Language Training

Facilitator: Nanci K. Shepardson M.S.Ed., Ed.S. W.D.P. Senior Educational Technologist, Wilson Language Training

This series will take place over the course of four interactive virtual presentations on the following Tuesdays in July: July 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2020. Presentations will occur from 9 am – 11 am PST. Registered participants will also receive access to a recording of each presentation.

July 7: A Review of the Research on Assistive Technology for Students with Dyslexia

July 14: Empowering All Learners to Acquire a Digital Voice

July 21: Using Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text Tools to Facilitate Work Completion

July 28: Technology Tools that Support Executive Functioning Skills

Choose What You Pay: IDALA seeks to make this learning opportunity accessible to all members of our community. The Summer Assistive Technology Series uses a “Choose What You Pay” model to allow you to select the level at which you will contribute to this series. Proceeds will directly benefit IDALA’s grants and scholarships programs for teachers and schools serving students with reading difficulties in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Kern Counties.
