Jennie Watson, B.A., M.A.

Jennie Watson’s passion for language and teaching began when she was living in Bulgaria for 18 months. After experiencing life as a second-language learner and volunteer teaching English classes to Bulgarian natives, she pursued a B.A. and then M.A. in English with a dual emphasis in rhetoric/composition and teaching English as a second language. Since graduating in 2012, she has put all her education to work, teaching monolingual, multilingual, and international students. She currently teaches composition and critical thinking at Cal Poly Pomona and Norco College and is actively involved in professional organizations for educators like herself. She served on the board of directors of CATESOL (an organization for teachers of English as a second language) as well as site chair and program chair for regional and annual (state-wide) conferences. She believes in accessible, empowering education for students and educators.

*Jennie Watson is the co-author of *Grammar and Style Choices for College Writers. She and fellow author, Dr. Olga Griswold, have a non-traditional method for teaching grammar to struggling writers, one that helps students and others produce the academic writing expected in and after high school.
