The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) is pleased to announce the release of the updated Spanish version of the Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. This revision builds upon the original 2017 adaptation and incorporates the latest refinements from the 2018 English edition, ensuring alignment with the science of reading in Spanish.
Led by Elsa Cárdenas-Hagan and Eric Tridas, this updated version includes adjustments specific to the Spanish language, with a strong focus on Structured Language Teaching (Standard 4), particularly phonological and phonetic awareness in reading instruction. Contributions from expert reviewers across Spanish-speaking countries, including Argentina, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay, have further enriched this edition.
IDA extends its gratitude to all collaborators who played a role in this important effort. We invite educators, researchers, and professionals to explore this valuable resource, now available in Spanish.
