September 2016

Youth art galleryDuring the Reading, Literacy & Learning Conference this October, IDA would like to highlight the artistic talents of individuals with dyslexia and related learning disabilities. Students from around the world are invited to submit artwork to be displayed in the Youth Art Gallery during the Conference.

With the help of Conference attendees, IDA will select pieces to be auctioned during Dyslexia Palooza, IDA’s fun, new event on Friday evening. All proceeds from this silent auction will go toward conference scholarships for the following year.

Additionally, the three pieces with the most votes from Conference attendees will receive a prize! Read the requirements below to find out how to be eligible for the prize!

Artwork may also be selected to appear on IDA’s website and in IDA publications, including the cover of IDA’s quarterly publication, Perspectives on Language and Literacy (Perspectives). If you are interested in having your piece selected for the cover of Perspectives next year, please submit artwork related to the following themes:

  • In the Classroom
  • Math
  • Structure of Words or Word Parts
  • From High School to College or Employment
  • Writing
  • Lessons or Classwork

The deadline is September 16, 2016 so apply today!
