On the surface, the classroom above may seem inviting and comfortable, however there are hidden flaws that may make it difficult for dyslexic children to learn important reading skills.

Here are important flaws in the classroom above:

  1. Excessive clutter (especially on the left side of the classroom)
  2. Some chairs are facing away from important instructional materials posted in the front of the classroom.
  3. No space between the teacher’s desk and the whiteboard.
  4. In the alphabet chart the code word for ‘w’ begins with a blend (whip).
  5. The american flag is blocking portions of the alphabet chart
  6. Carpet stains may indicate hidden dust and dirt — particularly problematic for young learners with asthma.
