VIRTUAL Central Texas Dyslexia Conference
September 18, 2020 - October 2, 2020
Austin ISD’s Central Texas Dyslexia Conference 2020
The 6th annual 2020 Central Texas Dyslexia Conference: Global Possibilities is virtual this year and starts Friday September 18th. For a two-week window through October 2nd, participants can view specially created presentations on-demand by leading experts in dyslexia and related disorders. The conference is available not only to AISD educators and families, but those from other districts. This year’s new virtual platform allows for many more participants than we have been able to host in the past at the face to face conference of 1,200 held at AISD’s Performing Arts Center. It is an exciting opportunity.
The annual conference sponsored by Austin ISD in collaboration with International Dyslexia Association Austin, Decoding Dyslexia Texas, and Made by Dyslexia brings together leaders in education, teachers, researchers, parents, dyslexia therapists, advocates, and other professionals to learn how to best prepare students with dyslexia to develop their strengths, overcome their obstacles, and be prepared for global possibilities. Putting research into practice, equipping educators with the knowledge and resources they need, and incorporating a strengths-based approach is critical in helping students build the motivation, resilience and self-confidence needed to reach their full potential inside the classroom and beyond.
